Narain Karthikeyan takes delivery of his Porsche 911 GT3

India's first Formula 1 driver Narain Karthikeyan has taken delivery of his new Porsche 911 GT3. The sports car is finished in Guards Red and has the centre-locking, 20-inch forged alloy wheels finished in silver.

The 911 GT3 (991.2) was launched in India in October 2017. It costs Rs. 2.31 crore (ex-showroom, India). The updated GT3 comes with styling and aerodynamic tweaks which include new front and rear bumpers, a new front splitter and a revised rear spoiler. Carbon fiber fenders and bonnet further help reduce the weight of the car. Porsche has also redesigned the scoops on the engine cover.

On the inside, the new GT3 gets a 3-spoke steering wheel and a classic 5-pod instrument cluster. The optional Club Sport package adds a roll cage, carbon fiber racing bucket seats, 6-point racing harness and a fire extinguisher.

The new 911 GT3 is powered by a 4.0-litre, naturally aspirated flat-6 cylinder engine that produces 493 BHP @ 8,250 rpm and 460 Nm of torque @ 6,000 rpm. It is offered with a choice of a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. It is claimed to do 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and has a top speed of 318 km/h. The new GT3 also has rear-axle steering.
