New car launches in India in July 2022
Here is a look at all the important car launches expected to take place in July 2022.
2022 Audi A8 L
Audi has announced that the 2022 A8 L will go on sale in India on July 12, 2022. It will compete with the BMW 7 Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class.
The new A8 L will be powered by a 3.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 48 V mild-hybrid system. It produces 335 BHP and 500 Nm and is paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system.
Citroen C3
Citroen is set to debut its second product in the Indian market this month. The C3 crossover will be launched on July 20, with official bookings opening on July 1, 2022.
The Citroen C3 is based on the brand's CMP modular platform. It will be positioned under the C5 Aircross and will compete with the likes of the Tata Punch, Nissan Magnite and the Renault Kiger.
New-gen Hyundai Tucson
Hyundai has announced that the fourth-generation Tucson will be unveiled in India on July 13, 2022. The SUV is likely to go on sale in the coming weeks.
The SUV is likely to be offered with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with either a 6-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. Higher variants are expected to get all-wheel drive as well.
The Tucson will take on SUVs like the Volkswagen Tiguan, Jeep Compass and the Citroen C5 Aircross.
Mahindra Scorpio Classic
The Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be sold alongside the recently launched Scorpio-N. It will be available in 2 variants: S & S11.
Mahindra hasn’t announced the launch date of the Scorpio Classic. However, reports suggest that the price announcement could be made soon.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder
Toyota has taken the wraps off its new mid-size SUV called the Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Bookings are now open and the prices will be announced soon. The Urban Cruiser Hyryder is the first SUV in its segment with a strong hybrid powertrain. It uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 91 BHP and 122 Nm. The ICE is paired with an electric motor that has an output of 78 BHP and 141 Nm.
The Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.
A Maruti Suzuki derivative of the Hyryder is also expected to be introduced in the Indian market. The upcoming mid-size SUV from Maruti, however, will be unveiled in late-July with a launch expected during the festive season.
Volvo XC40 Recharge
Volvo has announced that it will launch the XC40 Recharge in India on July 26. Deliveries of the brand’s first EV will commence in October 2022.
The XC40 Recharge will be assembled in India at Volvo’s Hosakote plant near Bangalore. This move should give it an edge over its rivals when it comes to pricing.
