MG Motor India has confirmed the launch date for the Windsor EV. The carmaker's third pure-electric offering will go on sale in India on September 11.
MG hasn’t revealed details of the electric motor and battery options that will be offered in the Windsor. However, in the international market, this EV comes with two battery options: 37.9 kWh with 360 km of range and a 50.6 kWh battery offering 460 km of range.
BYD India is gearing up to launch the M6 electric MPV in India in the coming weeks. The carmaker has dropped a teaser of the new model on social media and has also delisted the outgoing E6 from its official website. The BYD M6 is the replacement for the E6. It was showcased at the Indonesia Auto Show in July this year.
The BYD M6 could be offered with two battery options: 55.4 kWh and 71.8 kWh, offering a range of 420 km and 530 km, respectively. The batteries power a single electric motor that produces 161 BHP / 310 Nm (55.4 kWh) and 201 BHP / 310 Nm (71.8 kWh).
Jeep is gearing up to launch an updated version of the Compass this month, followed by the Meridian facelift in October.
That being said, the Compass is expected to receive no more than minor cosmetic updates. The updated SUV will retain the same 2.0-litre diesel engine, which puts out 168 BHP and 350 Nm. It will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 9-speed automatic transmission.
Tata Motors is likely to launch the Nexon CNG in the coming weeks. It will compete with the Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG.
The Nexon CNG was showcased in concept form at the Bharat Mobility Show in January. It will be powered by a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol engine, making it India’s first CNG car with a turbocharged engine.

Mercedes-Benz is expected to open bookings for the new E-Class LWB this month.
Production of the sixth-generation E-Class LWB has already commenced and some dealerships have also started accepting pre-bookings, albeit unofficially.
The new E-Class LWB will be offered with 2.0-litre turbo-petrol and diesel engines paired with a mild-hybrid system.
The Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 made its global debut in April last year. According to the latest reports, the pure-electric luxury SUV will be launched in India on September 5, 2024.
Powering the Mercedes-Maybach EQS 680 are two electric motors (one on each axle), producing 649 BHP and 950 Nm. Mercedes claims that the SUV can sprint from 0 - 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds and has a top speed of 209 km/h.
The Maybach EQS 680 comes with a 108 kWh battery pack, claimed to offer a WLTP range of 600 km on a single charge. Mercedes offers a 22 kW onboard AC charger, but the SUV supports 200 kW fast charging as well.
Last month, Tata Motors launched the Curvv.ev SUV Coupe in the Indian market. The carmaker has now introduced its ICE version, which is available with petrol and diesel powertrains. Prices start at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Hyundai has revealed the Alcazar facelift for the Indian market, ahead of its launch on September 9. The carmaker has already commenced bookings for the upcoming SUV. Customers can place their orders by paying a booking amount of Rs 25,000.
The Alcazar facelift will compete with the Tata Safari and MG Hector Plus in the Indian market.
Skoda has launched the Monte Carlo edition of the Slavia in India, with prices starting at Rs 15.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Slavia Monte Carlo is available with both 1.0-litre and 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engines. While the former is offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic, the latter gets a 7-speed DSG.
Skoda has also introduced the Sportline variants of the Slavia and Kushaq. The Sportline trim comes with cosmetic enhancements similar to the Monte Carlo variant. It has blacked-out design elements, LED headlamps with LED DRLs and black alloy wheels.
