The all-new Maruti Suzuki Dzire has been awarded a 5-star safety rating by Global NCAP. The car scored 31.24 points for adult occupant safety and 39.20 points for child occupant protection.
In the frontal impact test, the new Dzire offered good protection to the head and neck of the driver and passenger. The driver’s chest showed marginal protection and the passenger’s chest showed adequate protection. The knees of both occupants showed good protection, while the tibias showed adequate protection. The footwell area and bodyshell were rated as stable.
In the side impact test, the Dzire offered good protection to the head, chest abdomen and pelvis. The occupant's head, abdomen and pelvis showed good protection in the side pole impact test, while protection for the chest was rated as marginal.
The child seat for the 3-year-old was able to prevent excessive forward movement during the frontal impact test, offering good protection to the head and chest but limited protection to the neck. The child seat for the 18-month-old was also able to prevent head exposure during the test, offering full protection. The car offered full protection in the side impact test as well.
