When launched in India, it will compete with bikes such as the BMW R 1250 GS.

Triumph has unveiled the new-gen Tiger 1200 globally. The latest iteration of the ADV has two ranges - GT and Rally. The former consists of 3 models including the GT, GT Pro, and GT Explorer, whereas the latter has 2 models - the Rally Pro and Rally Explorer.

All the variants of the new-gen Triumph Tiger 1200 use the same 1,160cc, inline 3-cylinder engine that makes 148 BHP @ 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm @ 7,000 rpm. The motor features a T-plane firing order.

The new-gen Triumph Tiger 1200 comes with a newly-developed lightweight chassis. The motorcycle also has a ‘tri-link’ swingarm, shaft drive and adjustable seat height. Another key element that has helped reduce the overall weight of the motorcycle is the aluminium fuel tank. Triumph says that the new-gen Tiger 1200 is 25 kg lighter than its predecessor.

Triumph is providing the semi-active Showa suspension setup as standard across all the variants of the new-gen Tiger 1200. The braking duties are handled by twin 320 mm rotors at the front accompanied by Brembo Stylema calipers.

Some of the other key features of the new-gen Triumph Tiger 1200 include a 7-inch TFT instrument cluster, multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, traction control, TPMS, and a keyless start system. There is also a radar assistance system in the Explorer models. It offers blind-spot detection and lane change warning feature.

While Triumph has not shared any details regarding the availability of the new-gen Tiger 1200 in India, it is expected to be introduced sometime next year. When launched, it will compete with bikes such as the BMW R 1250 GS.
