New Mahindra Pik-Up (Scorpio Getaway) spotted testing

Mahindra has started testing a reworked version of the Pik-Up (known as the Scorpio Getaway in India).

The images indicate that the Pik-Up gets cosmetic changes that are in line with the ones we have seen on the Scorpio SUV that was launched in India in 2014. The vehicle gets a new front fascia with a restyled grille, dual projector headlamps with LED "eyebrows", a redesigned bumper and a tweaked bonnet. The sides and the rear of the Pik-Up appear to be unchanged.

The interiors of the Pik-Up have most likely been carried over from the Scorpio as well, and under the skin, the Pik-Up is expected to get a reworked chassis and suspension like its SUV sibling.

The Pik-Up has an mHawk badge on its tail gate, suggesting that it is powered by Mahindra's 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 120 BHP and 280 Nm of torque. While this engine has been available on the Pik-Up in international markets for a while, the Scorpio Getaway is still powered by the company's 2.6-litre CRDe unit. It remains to be seen if the mHawk engine makes it to the Indian version as well.

Mahindra could display the reworked Pik-Up at the Auto Expo in February 2016.
