Next-gen Hyundai Verna production to begin in March 2023

The next-gen Verna is expected to be launched in the second quarter of 2023.

Hyundai is gearing up to launch the next-gen Verna (codenamed: BN7i) in India later this year. Latest reports suggest that it could go into production as early as March 2023.

Hyundai is said to be ramping up the production of the Verna in India from 40,000 units per annum to 70,000 units. A majority of which will be exported to markets in Europe and Latin America. The closure of the St Petersburg plant due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict has forced Hyundai to make alternate arrangements to serve these markets.

The exterior of the new Verna is expected to be based on Hyundai’s ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design philosophy. The car could get an Elantra-like grille with a split headlamp design on either side.

The Verna will also get a completely revamped interior with a dual-screen setup featuring a large touchscreen infotainment system in the centre and a digital instrument cluster. The new model is also expected to come with ADAS.

In India, Hyundai is likely to offer the Verna with two engine options. These include a 1.5-litre petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine that powers the Creta.
