Next-gen Hyundai Verna spotted testing in India

The next-gen Verna will compete with the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.

The next-generation Hyundai Verna was first spotted in South Korea, as is the case with most Hyundai models. The car has now landed in India, where it will continue its test program.

The styling of the new Verna is based on Hyundai's 'Sensuous Sportiness' design language. The car is expected to get a wide grille with sharp headlamps on either side. It has a coupe-like roofline and slim LED tail lamps.

Inside, the Verna could come equipped with a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster along with features such as wireless charging, ventilated seats and automatic climate control.

The Verna is likely to be offered with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines with mild-hybrid technology and features such as brake energy regeneration and idle start / stop. Expect the car to get manual and automatic transmission options.

The next-gen Verna will compete with the Skoda Slavia, Volkswagen Virtus, Honda City and the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz.
