Next-gen Jeep Grand Cherokee interior spied

A new spy image of the next generation Jeep Grand Cherokee gives us a peek into the SUV's interior.

The dashboard of the new Grand Cherokee features a clean look. It has a leather-wrapped and a large touchscreen infotainment head-unit in the centre. The central air-con vents are positioned above the touchscreen.

The SUV has a new 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. Note that there isn't a conventional gear lever and it instead gets a rotary shift dial.

Reports suggest that the next generation Grand Cherokee will be based on the Giorgio platform, which also underpins the Alfa Romeo Stelvio and Giulia.

At present, the Grand Cherokee is available with a 3.0-litre V6 diesel or a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine. The Grand Cherokee SRT is powered by the 6.4-litre HEMI V8 that produces 462 BHP and 624 Nm. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
