Next-gen Mahindra Bolero interiors spied; gets AMT

The next-generation Mahindra Bolero (codename U301) has been spotted testing once again. This time, an image of the interiors of the car has been obtained. The variant spotted is rumoured to be the top-of-the-line ZLX with a 1.5-litre diesel engine.

While, the dashboard of the car is heavily clad, the image suggests that it will have a modern design compared to the current Bolero. There is a new three-spoke steering wheel with a Mahindra logo at the centre, rectangular air-conditioner vents with silver surrounds, instrument cluster with chrome rings around the dials and a dual din audio system with aux-in and USB ports, a 12V power socket and rotary knobs for the manual air-conditioner. The most significant feature spotted in the image is the automated manual transmission (AMT).

The U301 has a boxy design, five doors and carries a tail gate-mounted spare wheel. Reports say that it has a new ladder-frame chassis and will be available in various body lengths. Apart from the 1.5-litre turbo diesel engine, Mahindra is likely to offer a petrol unit on the Bolero.

It is rumoured that the new Bolero will initially be available in two-wheel drive form only. A four-wheel drive version could follow later.
