Next-gen Mahindra XUV500's headlamps spied

The XUV500's boomerang shaped headlamp clusters look quite striking.

A production-spec test mule of the next generation Mahindra XUV500 has been caught testing. The latest spy images reveal the SUVs front fascia and its striking new headlamps.

The new XUV500 gets large boomerang-shaped headlamp clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights adding a contemporary look. The front grille has also been re-profiled but retains its 7-slat design.

The overall shape of the XUV500 has been retained with a large greenhouse and flared wheel arches at the rear. Spy images have also revealed that the new model will get flush-fitting door handles and new design alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new XUV500 will be offered with the latest tech including a dual-screen setup with a touchscreen infotainment head-unit and digital instrument cluster. Moreover, reports suggest that the car could also get Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) including features like adaptive cruise control, frontal collision warning, autonomous emergency braking and lane departure warning.

The SUV could be offered with a 2.0-litre mStallion T-GDi turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel unit. The new model could be sold alongside the current generation XUV500.
