Next-gen Maruti Eeco could be launched by September 2022

The Eeco comes in either 5-seat or 7-seat configurations. Maruti also offers a cargo variant of the van.

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki will discontinue the Eeco van later this year. It will make way for the next-generation model, rumoured to be launched around August-September 2022.

Details of the new model are scarce. However, the report states that it will get power steering, among other features.

At present, the Eeco is available in either 5-seat or 7-seat configurations. Maruti also offers a cargo variant of the van.

The Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine that produces 72 BHP and 101 Nm. The van also comes with a factory-fitted CNG kit. When running on CNG, the engine output drops to 62 BHP and 85 Nm. Both variants come with a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Eeco was introduced back in 2010. Maruti sold over 1 lakh units within just 2-years of its launch, and by 2018, sales had crossed the 5 lakh unit mark.
