Next-gen Nissan Micra teased ahead of Paris debut

Nissan has released a teaser video of the next-gen Micra, which is expected to make its global debut at the upcoming Paris Motor Show. The new model will mark the fifth-generation of the Micra hatchback, which was originally introduced in 1982.

The most apparent element revealed in the video teaser is the presence of an array of body colours. Additionally, the video also reveals some design characteristics of the car's front fascia. The sharp and angular headlamps appear to have a projector setup along with LED DRLs. Then there is the V-motion grille, which integrates with the bonnet to form a prominent crease. Meanwhile, the tail lamps appear to protrude out of the body, while an integrated roof spoiler can also be spotted in the teaser.

Earlier spy shots of the car suggested that its design will be inspired by the Sway Concept, which Nissan showcased at the Geneva Motor Show last year. Hence, the new Micra is expected to get a sloping roofline, prominent character lines on the side of the car, and an angular tailgate.

The new Micra car is expected to be based on the CMF-B platform, jointly developed by the Renault-Nissan alliance. A set of new, small displacement petrol and diesel engines are expected to power the new hatchback, while transmission options are likely to include a manual and a CVT.
