Next-gen Skoda Rapid unveiled

Skoda has unveiled the next-generation Rapid sedan.

The new Rapid gets a redesigned grille with a chrome frame and trapezoidal LED headlights that have integrated LED daytime running lights. The front bumper has been redesigned as well and houses a large air dam and a set of fog lamps. At the rear, the Rapid gets new L-shaped tail lights with the Skoda lettering in the centre and a reworked rear bumper with integrated reflectors. The car seen here has a rear wiper, black lip spoiler, black ORVMs and black alloy wheels.

On the inside, the new Rapid comes with a redesigned dashboard featuring an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment head-unit. The car has a new 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster. A 2-spoke steering wheel is also available as an option.

In the international market, the new Rapid will be available with three petrol engine options. These include a 1.6-litre engine producing either 89 BHP or 108 BHP and a 123 BHP 1.4-litre turbo petrol unit. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic.
