Nissan: 8 new models for Africa, Middle East, India region

Nissan has announced a 4-year plan for Africa, Middle East and India region. It is part of the brand's Global Transformation plan that was announced last month.

As part of this plan, Nissan will work towards improving regional cost and efficiency by optimizing the regional product portfolio by 20%, increase cost competitiveness of local plants and enhance export opportunities from units in this region.

Nissan plans to introduce 8 new models in this region. The company will focus on its core models and segments and prioritize SUVs and affordable B-segment sedans. India will get a B-SUV, while the Navara will be launched in the South African market.

Nissan will focus on the Middle East, South Africa and Egypt while Renault will lead the Turkey and North Africa regions. In India, both the sister brands will have joint status.

Nissan also plans to introduce e-POWER, EV and connected technologies in this region in a phased manner. It will also focus on increasing digitalization.
