Nissan Magnite production begins; more pictures emerge

Deliveries of the Nissan Magnite are expected to begin soon and it could be exported to other countries as well. Pictures also show a Magnite in a brown shade.

Production of the Nissan Magnite has begun at the company's plant in Chennai. Deliveries are expected to begin in December 2020. Nissan is also expected to export the car to countries like Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan and South Africa. Pictures of a car finished in brown have also surfaced online.

The Magnite is Nissan's first sub-4m crossover and is based on the CMF-A+ platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. It has a large Datsun-like octagonal grille flanked by LED bi-projector headlamps. It also gets L-shaped DRLs, fog lamps, and LED tail lamps.

On the inside, the Magnite comes with a 7.0-inch digital instrument cluster, 8.0-inch touchscreen head-unit with 6 speakers (JBL powered by Harman) and wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, voice-recognition, cruise control, a 360-degree camera, and a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. Optional equipment includes a wireless smartphone charger, an air purifier, puddle lamps and ambient mood lighting.

Powering the Magnite will be a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with either a 5-speed manual or a CVT gearbox.
