Ola opens bookings for its electric scooter

The Ola e-scooter is likely to use a 6 kW electric motor and could have a range of 240 km.

Ola Electric has commenced bookings for its upcoming electric scooter. Customers can place their orders on the company's website by paying a refundable token amount of Rs. 499.

The Ola e-scooter looks identical to the Etergo Appscooter. It measures 1,860 mm in length, 700 mm in width and 1,155 mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 1,345 mm.

The e-scooter is likely to use a 6 kW electric motor, powered by a swappable battery. It is expected to offer a maximum range of 240 km. The scooter will accelerate from 0-45 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

Ola will manufacture the electric scooter at its new facility in Tamil Nadu. It will have an initial capacity of 2 million units per year in Phase 1 alone, making it the biggest 2-wheeler factory in the world.
