Ola Electric is all set to unveil its Gen-3 range of electric scooters on January 31. The EV maker is expected to unveil the latest iteration of the S1 along with two new models: the S2 and S3.
The all-new Gen 3 platform is scalable and incorporates the battery, motor and electronics into a single unit. This setup is said to deliver 26% better performance and a 22.5% reduction in costs compared to the previous architecture.
The Gen 3 battery consists of 4,680 cells that are larger in diameter and have a 10% higher energy density. Ola has also improved the shock resistance and thermal efficiency of the batteries.
The Gen 3 platform also comes with a new electric motor. It features magnetized electrical coils instead of permanent magnets, which are said to be more efficient and generate higher torque. Peak power and torque would be around 15 kW and 70 Nm.
The new Ola S2 is likely to be offered in three variants: City, Tourer and Sports. The S3 is touted to be a premium maxi-scooter. It will be offered in two variants: Grand Adventure and Grand Tourer.
