Ola S1 Gen 3 electric scooter launched at Rs 79,999

The Ola S1 Pro+ 5.3 kWh version offers a range of 320 km at Rs 1.70 lakh.

Ola Electric has launched its Gen 3 range of electric scooters. Prices for the S1 X start at Rs 79,999, while the S1 Pro is priced at Rs 1.15 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ola Electric’s Gen 3 platform brings in big updates to the S1 electric scooter range. The hub motor has been replaced with a mid-drive motor on lower variants. The e-scooter also gets new brake-by-wire tech along with ABS.

The entry-level Ola S1 X is available with three battery options: 2 kWh, 3 kWh and 4 kWh, offering 108 km, 176 km and 242 km of range, respectively.

The S1 X 4 kWh version comes with a 7 kW electric motor that is capable of accelerating the e-scooter from 0-40 km/h in 3 seconds. It has a claimed top speed of 123 km/h. The S1 X+ variant uses an 11 kW electric motor. It can sprint from 0-40 km/h in 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 125 km/h.

In terms of features, the new Ola S1 X range comes with an LCD instrument console, chain final drive, brake-by-wire and single-channel ABS.

The new Ola S1 Pro Gen 3 is available with three battery options: 3 kWh, 4 kWh and 5.3 kWh, offering a range of 176 km, 242 km and 320 km, respectively.

The S1 Pro+ 5.3 kWh version is said to be the first e-scooter to use the made-in-India 4860 ‘Bharat Cell’. It is also the most powerful version with a 13 kW electric motor capable of doing 0-40 km/h in 2.1 seconds and a top speed of 141 km/h. The S1 Pro+ comes with dual-channel ABS.

The Ola S1 e-scooter is offered with a 3-year / 40,000 km warranty. Ola also offers an extended battery warranty of up to 8 years / 1.25 lakh km for Rs 14,999.
