Ola ties up with Microsoft to build connected car platform

Cab aggregator Ola has announced a tie up with the Microsoft Corporation to build a new connected car platform. As part of the partnership, Microsoft Azure cloud services will be used for Ola Play.

According to the company, Ola Play will leverage Microsoft’s expertise in artificial intelligence and tools like telematics, advanced navigation and cloud-based infotainment to improve the driver and passenger experience. In-car productivity will be enhanced as customers will get access to tools like Office 365, Skype for Business and built-in voice-assisted controls.

Advanced telematics will monitor driver and vehicle performance. It will also provide vehicle diagnostics and make predictive maintenance of vehicles a lot easier, thus enhancing safety and security.

Ola and Microsoft see a demand for such connected car platforms in the market and are planning to offer their product to car makers worldwide.
