In pics: Attended the KTM test ride & experience event at Bangalore

Overall it was a fun outing, watching riders and chatting up bikes. There were also couple of bikes on display where one could sit/stand and basically have a closer look.

KTM ORGANISED TEST RIDE & EXPERIENCE EVENT

Yesterday, KTM had organised a test ride and experience event at Tribal Adventure - a dirt park, on the outskirts of Bangalore. Anyone could register for the event by filling an online form, no costs attached. Some basics like proper riding gear, full faced helmet, etc were mandatory requirement. This information was widely circulated amongst all biking whatsapp groups. Being a sunday and nothing much to do, I decided to go with the flow as well.

Reached the event towards the late morning and saw a large crowd at the venue parking. Bikes of all shapes and sizes, but mostly ADVs.

The event was well organised, with a registration desk with the obligatory indemnity form filling and a serial token number was assigned to participants.

As expected, the placed was branded Orange, and there was excitement all around. There were tent cards with chairs where one could wait for their turn while chatting with fellow bikers. There was a food truck selling snacks. KTM had stocked up plenty of drinking water for everyone. They were also providing elbow guards, knee guards, and gloves to those who were low on protection.

There were 7-8 bikes being used for the test rides. It was a mix of S and X variant and one could choose the variant one wanted to ride. Good to see the mirrors and footpeg rubbers were removed.

The track comprised of many obstacles including logs, pits, mounds of various shapes and sizes, rocks, gravel section, and also a slush pit. Every one was given two rounds of the track. I rode the S variant.

In sometime, the bikes were covered in dirt and looked the part. There were riders of various experince level, some were riding like pro, popping wheelies on the mounds and some were slow and cautious and avoiding the obstacles. There were falls and slides all around which the bikes took well. I did see some bikes with bent engine guard, crackd knuckle guard and one of the bike did not have a visor. I think it broke at a landing and was removed.

Overall it was a fun outing, watching riders and chatting up bikes. There were also couple of bikes on display where one could sit/stand and basically have a closer look.
