In Pictures: 17-car convoy enjoys a weekend drive away from Bangalore

We stayed in a cosy beautiful resort, had great food, had lots of conversation on several topics and had a wonderful drive through some beautiful mountain roads.

BHPian graaja recently shared this with other enthusiasts.

Had a wonderful experience on the drive. Thank you, Chief for restarting the drives after a gap of 3 years. The last drive was in 2019 to Kodibengere. It was great to see all the friends and many new faces too. We stayed in a cosy beautiful resort, had great food, had lots of conversation on several topics and had a wonderful drive through some beautiful mountain roads. Everyone drove from Bangalore as a group. I drove from Coimbatore and directly joined them at the resort.

There were some 17 cars in the drive. As I did not get to drive with the convoy, a couple of pictures I clicked of the cars in the parking lot. The parking lot was not enough for all the cars and a few had to be parked outside.A few pictures of my GT on the drive to the resort.

Drove through some beautiful mountain roads and through the mist - A misty drive to Misty Grove.

The resort. We stayed in these beautiful cottages among some lush green gardens.

On the 2nd day, it was a beautiful morning after the rains the previous day.

The cars were covered with rain droplets. Took some pictures of the car logos with these shining droplets.

On the 2nd day, everyone returned to Bangalore together. 500CountryCruiser had to come to Coimbatore and Brraj was going to Madurai. So we three decided to avoid Sunday Ooty tourist traffic and took the Nilambur -> Mannarkad - Palakkad route. Mr. and Mrs. Krraj went to Madurai from Palakkad. I and 500CountryCruiser said our byes just before Coimbatore. A few pictures of this small 3-car convoy from the return journey.

Thank you, Chief once again for the wonderful experience. Eagerly looking forward to the next drive!

Here's what BHPian Dr.AD had to say on the matter:

It was a fantastic meet! It was great to meet fellow BHPians and discuss cars and road trips! I absolutely enjoyed meeting many old friends as well as some new friends, and discussing topics close to my heart - cars and road trips. I made some new friends on this trip and looking forward to meeting them again soon.

Thanks to @RSUDARSANAN for organizing this meet, and thanks to everyone who attended for your company and for the wonderful discussions.

Since I was busy talking to everyone (really enjoyed that part), I forgot to take any pictures as such. The discussion sessions were the highlight of this trip for me. For example, on Saturday after lunch, four of us just casually stood there and started discussing cars. And we ended up standing there and discussing cars for full two hours, without even realizing it! That is the beauty of such Team-BHP meets. Where else will I find someone who will stand next to me for two hours and discuss cars?

Even at the dinner, the conversations were all about road trips. I loved that. I met fellow BHPians whose travelogues I had read and admired, and it was great meeting them in person and discussing a common passion - road trips!

As I said, I did not take any pictures as such. But just took a few casual mobile phone photos of my car in the parking lot. Please allow me to share those.

That is all I have. Once again thanks to everyone, and looking forward to meeting you all soon in another drive! After all, we just "Live to Drive", don't we?

Here's what BHPian speedmiester had to say on the matter:
