Porsche Mission E caught testing alongside Tesla model S, X

Production version of Porsche's electric concept car was spotted testing alongside Tesla model S and X in Germany. The concept car was displayed at the Frankfurt motor show in 2015.

Overall, the front facia appears somewhat similar to the concept car, but the rear has undergone some changes that make it look like the existing Porsche models. The changes include smaller fenders and a larger lower air intake with driver aids in the center. It gets fake exhaust vents and a retractable spoiler at the back. The spotted test cars had different sets of alloy wheels. Some of the spotted cars had the 4 LED headlamp units like the concept, while others had the regular projector setup. The charging port cover gets a regular flap-type door and is located at the driver side front fender.

The four-seater electric car is expected to produce 590 BHP using an 800-volt drive system. The Mission E features an all-wheel drive, all-wheel steering system. Porsche claims that the car will do the 0-100 km/h run in under 3.5 seconds while hitting the 200 km/h mark in under 12 seconds. The German automaker claims that the Mission E’s battery can be topped up to an 80% charge in just 15 minutes with a driving range of 500 kilometres on a full charge.
