Porsche Panamera Sport Turismo to be launched in January 2018

Porsche is set to launch its Panamera Sport Turismo range in India in January 2018. Bookings are now open for the Turbo variant which is priced at Rs. 2.08 crore (ex-showroom, India).

The Sport Turismo is essentially an estate version of the standard Panamera. The car measures 5,049 mm in overall length and its width and height are 1,937 mm and 1,432 mm respectively. The Sport Turismo has a wheelbase of 2,950 mm that is identical to the standard Panamera.

The styling of the Panamera Sport Turismo has been derived from the sedan. The front end is almost identical with flared wheel arches and LED headlights. The front bumper houses three vents that extend across the front fascia. The Turbo models get a more aggressive looking front end with twin-LED strips as opposed to a single LED strip on the lower variants. Like the sedan, the Sport Turismo models get a vent behind the front wheel arch. The raised roofline of the estate is evident when viewed in side profile. Moving to the rear, the hatchback and windshield are raked at a steeper angle compared to the sedan, which gives the Sport Turismo its distinct estate-like proportions. It also has an active roof spoiler that can switch between three positions. The LED tail lamp cluster has been carried over from the sedan.

The interiors of the Panamera Sport Turismo are similar to the sedan. It comes with a 4+1 seating configuration unlike the standard car which has only 4 seats. It also has a larger boot than the sedan with an additional 50 litres of storage space.

The new Panamera Turbo Sport Turismo is powered by a 4.0-litre, twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that delivers a peak output of 542 BHP @ 5,750-6,000 rpm and 770 Nm of torque @ 1,960-4,500 rpm. It comes with an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and has all-wheel drive. Porsche claims that the Turbo Sport Turismo will accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 3.8 sec and has a top speed of 304 km/h.
