Production-spec Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV spied

The XUV400 is expected to compete with the Tata Nexon EV and Nexon EV Max.

The all-electric version of the Mahindra XUV300 has been spotted in its close-to-production form. The electric SUV is expected to be called XUV400 and could be launched in early 2023.

While the electric version looks similar to the XUV300, it will have a few differentiating elements. The most prominent of them all will be the blanked-out front grille. The test car has rectangular headlamp clusters with integrated LED daytime running lights, while the bumper also seems to be unique to the EV.

At the rear, the electric SUV gets wraparound tail lamps, possibly with different internals. The side profile of the car looks identical to the ICE-powered model. It has flared wheel arches, alloy wheels and roof rails. The charging port is positioned on the passenger side front fender.

The XUV400 is likely to be powered by a single electric motor producing around 150 BHP. It could be offered with two battery pack options, however, details on the same are still unclear.
