Rebadged Ciaz could be called Toyota Belta; trademark filed

The rebadged Ciaz will be mechanically identical to Maruti's version.

Toyota has applied for a trademark of the name 'Belta' in India. It is now being speculated that the rebadged Maruti Ciaz, which is likely to be the replacement for the Yaris, could use this moniker.

The rebadged Ciaz is likely to receive minor cosmetic changes. Leaked images suggest that the car will have a similar grille design to the Ciaz.

Like the Glanza and the Urban Cruiser, the rebadged Ciaz will be mechanically identical to Maruti's version. It will be powered by a 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder mild-hybrid petrol engine. This motor produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm and comes paired with a 5-speed manual or a 4-speed automatic transmission.
