Rolls Royce to debut new 'Spirit of Ecstasy' on Spectre

The current models such as the Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Dawn and Cullinan will not get the new design.

Rolls Royce has unveiled its updated 'Spirit of Ecstasy'. The updated version of the hood ornament is 82.73 mm tall - 17 mm shorter than its predecessor. The figurine has a visible change in its stance, which offer both stylistic and practical benefits. Rolls Royce is also said to have reshaped the robes on the figurine to be more aerodynamic and realistic.

The redesigned Spirit of Ecstasy has been revealed exactly 111 years since it was registered as the intellectual property of Rolls Royce, back on February 6, 1911. The latest iteration of the hood ornament will debut on the brand's first EV offering, the Spectre.

Rolls Royce will also use the redesigned version on all its models following the Spectre, however, the present models such as the Phantom, Ghost, Wraith, Dawn and Cullinan will continue to use the current design.

The Spectre prototypes are said to have a drag coefficient of 0.26 - making it the most aerodynamic Rolls Royce to date. However, the brand believes the final version could improve on this number even further.
