Rolls Royce's first pure-EV 'Silent Shadow' confirmed

Rolls Royce's first pure-EV will be called the Silent Shadow and is said to be an all-new model.

Rolls Royce is said to be working on an all-electric ultra-luxury saloon. According to media reports, the upcoming pure-electric model is said to be called the 'Silent Shadow'.

Reports suggest that Torsten Muller-Otvos, CEO, Rolls Royce confirmed the development in a recent interview. Otvos also mentioned that the upcoming electric sedan will be an all-new product and not based on any existing model. However, there was no mention of any specific timeline for its unveil.

The new all-electric Rolls Royce is expected to be called, Silent Shadow. BMW which owns the luxury car brand is said to have already applied for a trademark for the name last year. The name 'Silent Shadow', is said to take inspiration from the brand's old Silver Shadow model, which was on sale from 1965 to 1980.

The company CEO also stated that electrification works well for Rolls Royce. The electric powertrain offers torque right from the start, while also being completely silent.

However, apart from the confirmation, no other details of the upcoming electric Rolls Royce car were revealed.
