Royal Enfield Meteor 350 launched at Rs. 1.76 lakh

The Meteor 350 is here to challenge the Honda H'ness.

Royal Enfield has launched the Meteor 350 in India. The bike is available in three variants - Fireball, Stellar and Supernova priced at Rs. 1.76 lakh, Rs. 1.81 lakh and Rs. 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.

The Meteor 350 is the replacement for the Thunderbird and Thunderbird X models. It is based on a new twin downtube spine chassis that is said to be stiffer the Thunderbird's frame. The seat height is 765 mm while the wheelbase is 1,400 mm. The bike weighs 191 kg and has a ground clearance of 170 mm.

The Meteor 350 features a round headlight with an integrated LED daytime running light. It comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster that has features such as Bluetooth and a 'Tripper screen' that displays turn-by-turn navigation.

Powering the Meteor 350 is a new 349cc, fuel-injected, single-cylinder engine that produces 20.2 BHP @ 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm @ 4,000 rpm. The engine features an overhead camshaft instead of a pushrod and comes with a primary balancer shaft. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox.

The bike uses a 41 mm telescopic fork and has twin adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. It comes equipped with a 300 mm disc brake at the front and 270 mm disc at the rear. It has 19-inch and 17-inch alloy wheels at the front and rear respectively.

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 competes with the Honda H'Ness in the Indian market.
