Royal Enfield has inaugurated its new CKD assembly facility in Thailand. It is said to be the brand’s first standalone motorcycle assembly plant in the global market outside India.
The new assembly plant is located in Samut Prakan province in Bangkok. It is spread over 57,000 sq. ft. and has an installed capacity of more than 30,000 units per year. Initially, the new facility will serve the Thai market and cater to other countries in the region in a phased manner.
The new unit will also house Royal Enfield’s first-ever dedicated Power Train – an experiential training centre in the Asia Pacific region for dealers and plant employees.
The new facility is Royal Enfield’s sixth CKD assembly unit outside India after Argentina, Colombia, Brazil, Bangladesh and Nepal.
