Rs. 1000 fine for speeding on Mumbai-Pune E-way from Aug 1

From August 1, 2020, those found speeding on the toll plaza stretch of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway will be slapped with a fine of Rs. 1,000.

The distance between the Khalapur and Urse (Talegaon) toll plazas is about 50 km. According to the police, it takes around 37 minutes to cross this section at the speed limit. This section of road also includes a 15 km ghat section where the speed limit is 50 km/h.

The authorities will be monitoring the time taken by vehicles to cover the 50 km distance between the two toll plazas using CCTVs. Vehicles crossing this stretch in less than 37 minutes will be penalized. For the first offence an e-challan of Rs. 1,000 will be issued and the amount will increase for repeated violations.
