Rumour: 2017 Hyundai Xcent facelift to launch on April 20

According to media reports, Hyundai is planning to launch the 2017 Xcent facelift in India on April 20, 2017. The updated model is expected to get some cosmetic tweaks, a new infotainment system and an upsized diesel engine.

The 2017 Xcent is likely to borrow its front design cues from the facelifted Grand i10. This means, it can be expected to get a broader grille, redesigned bumper and LED DRLs embedded in the fog lamp housings. The rear will likely a new boot lid and wider, twin-section tail lights. The facelifted model is also expected to come with a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment display with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, similar to what has been seen on the facelifted Grand i10.

Under the hood, the 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine from the current model is expected to be retained. This engine will be available with two transmission options - a 5-speed MT and a 4-speed AT and will be rated at 82 BHP and 114 Nm. However, the diesel version is expected to come with a new 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine, which is the same unit as that of the Grand i10 facelift. This powerplant develops 74 BHP and 190 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
