Rumour: 4th-gen Audi A8 L to be launched by end-2019

According to a media report, the fourth-generation Audi A8 L is likely to be launched in India by the end of 2019. Some Audi dealerships have reportedly started accepting bookings for the car as well. 

The new A8 is based on the MLB Evo platform. It measures 5,302 mm in length, 1,945 mm in width, 1,488 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 3,128 mm. The car gets a redesigned hexagonal grille with a chrome frame flanked by re-profiled LED headlights. At the rear, it gets wraparound LED tail lights with an LED light bar and a new rear bumper with chrome inserts. On the inside, it gets dual touchscreens and a digital instrument cluster. 

In the international market, the new A8 also gets Level 3 autonomous driving features. It is powered by a 3.0-litre, V6 diesel engine that produces 282 BHP @ 3,500-4,000 rpm and 600 Nm of torque @ 2,250-3,250 rpm and a 3.0-litre, turbocharged petrol unit that puts out 335 BHP @ 5,00-6,000 rpm and 500 Nm of torque @ 1,370-4,500 rpm. Both engines come mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and a Quattro all-wheel drive system. They also feature a mild hybrid system.
