Rumour: All-electric Royal Enfield Himalayan is in the works

A leaked product plan recently revealed that Royal Enfield is also working on a 650cc Himalayan.

Last week, we got the first sneak peek of Royal Enfield's first all-electric bike. A new report claims that the bike maker is also working on an electric Himalayan.

The report states that Royal Enfield will be adopting a top-down strategy when it comes to EVs, and its first electric offering for India will be an ADV. It will also serve as a technological showcase.

A leaked image shows an electric adventure bike concept featuring a typical semi-faired ADV. The lower half houses the battery and the electric motor. The bike appears to use a belt drive to power the rear wheel. Other details include a replaceable side bash plate and a circular intake for battery cooling.

A leaked product plan recently revealed that Royal Enfield is also working on a 650cc Himalayan. It is likely to be powered by a 648cc parallel-twin engine producing 46.2 BHP and 52 Nm. With the addition of an EV, customers will have three powertrains options on the most versatile model in the brand's line-up.
