Rumour: Apple in talks with Toyota for its EV project

The company aims to start production of the Apple Car sometime in 2024.

According to a media report, Apple officials are currently in Asia to lay the groundwork for the brand's upcoming electric car project. The American tech giant is said to be planning a visit to Toyota to discuss the possibility of a partnership to manufacture the Apple Car.

Reports suggest that Apple is open to partnering with established OEMs in the automotive sector for its electric car project. The company aims to start production of the Apple Car sometime in 2024.

There have been reports of Apple being in talks with multiple Korean electric powertrain manufacturers, including SK Innovation and LG Electronics. It is said that LG Magna e-Powertrain is currently the front runner in terms of supplying Apple with the electric powertrain on its first EV.
