Rumour: Bugatti to introduce a 4-door premium sedan

Bugatti's CEO, Wolfgang Durheimer, has claimed that the company is working on a new model line as part of its long term goals to become a financially independent brand of the VW Group. This decision has been taken as an aftermath of the infamous Dieselgate emission scandal that has resulted in huge monetary setbacks to the Volkswagen group. As a result, the CEO is currently going through four new model proposals, one of which is a four-door premium sedan.

Bugatti had earlier showcased a four-door sedan concept named 16C Galibier (pictured here) at an invitation-only show in France. Since the company has already worked on the concept and thus has the base for the sedan ready, it is highly likely that the automaker will go ahead and launch a production version of the Galibier. If this indeed happens, the Galibier will be the only product to accompany the Bugatti Chiron in the automaker's portfolio.

In its concept form, the Bugatti Galibier had a mid-front mounted 8.0-litre, twin-supercharged W16 engine.
