Rumour: BYD to launch Atto 3 electric SUV in India

The BYD Atto 3 electric SUV is likely to be launched during the 2023 Auto Expo.

According to a media report, China-based BYD is likely to launch the Atto 3 electric SUV in India. It is expected to be imported via the CBU route. Prices are likely to be announced during the 2023 Auto Expo.

The BYD Atto 3 measures 4,455 mm in length, 1,875 mm in width and has a wheelbase of 2,720 mm. It features sleek twin-pod LED headlamps with a chrome strip in the centre and slim tail lamp units with a light bar at the rear.

The interior of the Atto 3 looks futuristic with its dual-tone dashboard and touchscreen infotainment system. It has a 3-spoke steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.

The Atto 3 comes with two battery options featuring the brand’s patented Blade Battery Technology. The 49.92 kWh battery offers a range of 320 km, while the 60.48 kWh battery pack has enough juice to cover 420 km (WLTP cycle).

Powering the Atto 3 is a permanent magnet synchronous motor that develops 201 BHP and 310 Nm, which is said to propel the car from 0-100 km/h in 7.3 seconds.

The BYD Atto 3 is expected to compete with the MG ZS EV, Nexon EV Max and the Kona Electric.
