Rumour: DSK Benelli to launch BN 302R in May 2017

According to media reports, DSK Benelli is planning to launch the BN 302R in India in the month of May 2017. While the manufacturer hasn't revealed an official launch date yet, reports suggest that the bike has received the necessary clearances and approvals from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI).

The BN 302R will be a fully-faired version of the TNT 300 that is already on sale in the country. While both bikes will share the same engine, the BN 302R will be built on a new, lighter frame. It will also get a new front fascia due to the fairing and the twin headlamps. The rear end will be similar to that of the TNT 300.

The BN 302R's engine will be the same 300 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin unit that powers the TNT 300. In the naked street fighter, this engine develops 35 BHP and 27 Nm of torque, while being mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

The BN 302R is expected to compete against the KTM RC390, Yamaha YZF-R3 and Kawasaki Ninja 300.
