Rumour: Electric Mahindra XUV700 to get a 54 KWh battery pack

The first fully electric prototype has been built, however, it is not roadworthy yet.

Last month, Mahindra launched the much-awaited XUV700. It is now believed that the carmaker is working on an all-electric version of the SUV. The first fully electric prototype has been built, however, it is not roadworthy yet.

The prototype is said to be powered by a 54 kWh battery pack. It's the next generation XUV700 that will get an all-electric option, which is expected to arrive by the end of the decade.

Mahindra is also expected to launch the XUV900, which is a 4-door coupe-SUV based on the XUV700.
