Rumour: Honda CR-V to be launched in October 2018

Honda had showcased the new CR-V at the 2018 Auto Expo. Now, according to a media report, the SUV is likely to be launched in October 2018.

The new CR-V is larger than the previous version but more importantly, it will now be offered with a third row of seats. It features a chrome grille flanked by LED headlights with integrated L-shaped LED DRLs. The front bumper has a wide air dam with LED fog lamps on either side. From the side, the new model looks similar to the 4th-gen CR-V. At the rear, it has L-shaped tail lights, raked windshield and a dual-tone bumper with reflectors.

On the inside, the new CR-V gets a redesigned dashboard with a touchscreen infotainment system in the center, a 3-spoke multi-function steering wheel and a digital instrument cluster.

In India, the CR-V is rumoured to get a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine mated to a 9-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifts. Reports suggest that Honda might also offer a 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine paired with a CVT. While the diesel version is expected to get all-wheel drive, the petrol-powered CR-V is likely to be front-wheel drive only.
