Rumour: Hyundai to launch Verna facelift on February 16, 2015

Hyundai Motor India is rumoured to be launching the facelifted Verna sedan on February 16, 2015.

The refreshed Verna will feature cosmetic changes such as a redesigned front grille, revised front bumper, new fog lamps, new projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, new rear bumper with integrated reflectors and redesigned alloy wheels. The interiors of the Verna are likely to be similar to the outgoing model. However, Hyundai could provide some additional equipment such as a touchscreen infotainment system and additional airbags.

The refreshed Verna is also likely to get a tweaked suspension and steering, which will provide better feedback than the current model.

The Verna facelift is expected to continue with the same 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre petrol and diesel engines as the current model. However, Hyundai could offer a 6-speed automatic transmission in place of the current 4-speed unit and the diesel engines could be given some performance upgrades.

The Verna will compete in the C2 segment with the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz and segment-leading Honda City.
