Rumour: Jeep Compass facelift to be unveiled by end-2020

According to a media report, the Jeep Compass facelift is likely to be revealed by the end of this year.

Earlier this week, Jeep revealed the updated Compass for the international market. While Jeep has introduced new powertrains, the SUV received only a minor refresh. However, it has been reported that the Compass is likely to get a major update later this year. It is expected to be launched in India in the second half of 2021.

In the international market, the Compass gets a new 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine. It produces either 128 BHP or 148 BHP. The torque rating of both tunes is 270 Nm. This engine comes with either a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.

A plug-in hybrid version powered by the same 1.3-litre turbo petrol and an electric motor is also available in select markets. It is also available in two states of tune - 187 BHP and 237 BHP. The plug-in hybrid variants come with all-wheel drive only.

The Compass is also available with a 1.6-litre, 4-cylinder diesel that makes 118 BHP and 320 Nm. It comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox.
