Rumour: Kawasaki KX250F and KX100 to launch on December 18

Kawasaki is reportedly planning to launch the KX250F and KX100 in India on December 18, 2016. These bikes have been designed and engineered exclusively for motocross track use and are not street legal.

Powering the KX250F is a 249cc, four-stroke, single cylinder, water-cooled engine, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It is loaded with a long travel suspension system. The front gets a 48 mm inverted Showa telescopic fork with 40-way spring preload adjustability and 22-position compression and 20-position rebound damping adjustability. The rear also gets a Showa monoshock with 19-position low speed and 4-turns high-speed compression damping along with 22-position rebound damping. Braking duties are handled by a 270 mm petal disc brake with dual-piston caliper at the front, and a 240 mm petal disc with single-piston caliper at the rear.

Meanwhile, the KX100 is equipped with a 99cc two-stroke, single cylinder, water cooled engine, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. It gets a 36 mm inverted telescopic fork with 20-way compression damping at the front, while the rear features a Uni-Trak single shock system with 24-way compression and 21-way rebound damping.

Both these bikes will likely be brought into the country through the CBU route. Hence, they will probably be launched at an expensive price tag.
