Rumour: Kia Seltos engine specifications revealed

The Kia Seltos was unveiled earlier this month. However, Kia did not disclose the engine specifications or other details about the SUV at the time. Now, new details about the car and its engine options have surfaced online.

According to a media report, the Kia Seltos measures 4,315 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,620 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,610 mm, a ground clearance of 190 mm and a luggage capacity of 433 litres. It is expected to come with 16-inch wheels shod with 205/65 section tyres with higher variants likely to get 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/60 section rubber.

The Kia Seltos is expected to be offered with two 4-cylinder petrol and one 4-cylinder diesel engine options, all of which are expected to be BS-VI compliant. These are likely to include a 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated Smartstream petrol engine with 113 BHP and 144 Nm of torque, a 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol unit producing 138 BHP and 242 Nm of torque and a 1.5-litre diesel unit with 113 BHP and 250 Nm of torque. All engines are likely to be offered with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The diesel is likely to get a 6-speed automatic option as well, while a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission is expected to be available with the turbo-petrol unit.

The Kia Seltos is likely to be equipped with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia's UVO Connect features, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, head-up display, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and ventilated front seats among others.
