Rumour: Kia Seltos to be launched on August 22, 2019

According to a media report, the Kia Seltos is likely to be launched on August 22, 2019. 

The Kia Seltos was unveiled earlier this month. It will be Kia first product for the Indian market and is expected to compete with the MG Hector, Tata Harrier and Mahindra XUV500 among others.

Like the Hector, the Seltos will reportedly get a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Kia's UVO Connect features, an 8-speaker Bose audio system, head-up display, 360-degree camera, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and ventilated front seats.

Reports suggest that the Seltos is likely to get three engine options including two 4-cylinder petrol engines and one 4-cylinder diesel. The 1.5-litre, naturally aspirated Smartstream petrol engine is said to produce 113 BHP and 144 Nm of torque, while the 1.4-litre, turbocharged petrol unit is expected to make 138 BHP and 242 Nm of torque. The 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine on the other hand could make 113 BHP and churn out 250 Nm of peak torque. Transmission options are expected to include a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed dual-clutch.
