Rumour: Lexus brand to launch in India on March 24

Toyota will reportedly launch its luxury inclined brand Lexus in India on March 24, 2017. The first Lexus cars to be officially launched will likely include the RX450h, the LX450d and the ES300h. Bookings of the said models have already commenced.

Initially, Lexus will be bringing its cars into India through the CBU route. However, it is expected to start local assembly later next year, using Toyota's existing manufacturing facilities in the country. This will help the automaker to offer competitive price tags of its offerings.

The first Lexus dealership in India is expected to be established in Mumbai, at the Taj Santacruz Hotel, near the Chhatrapati Shivaji International airport. Lexus will eventually be opening dealerships in major cities, including Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai etc.
