Rumour: Maruti S-Cross facelift launch on September 26, 2017

Maruti Suzuki is likely to launch the S-Cross facelift this month. A recent media report suggests that the crossover could be launched on September 26, 2017. Meanwhile, dealerships have reportedly started accepting pre-bookings from September 1, 2017 onwards.

The Maruti S-Cross facelift comes with revised exterior styling elements which will include a chrome grille, redesigned headlights, new bumpers and new alloy wheels. Interiors of the vehicle are expected to remain unchanged apart from the addition of a 7.0-inch SmartPlay touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and MirrorLink support.

Earlier reports suggest that the S-Cross facelift may not get the 1.6-litre diesel engine. Instead, Maruti will only offer the 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine on the new model. This engine produces 89 BHP @ 4,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque @ 1,750 rpm. The engine will likely be paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox. Rumours also suggest that the Maruti might add the SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle from Suzuki) technology to the 1.3 L engine, though there has been no official confirmation regarding the same.
