Rumour: Maruti Vitara Brezza Petrol production starts

According to a media report, Maruti Suzuki has commenced production of the petrol variant of the Vitara Brezza.

The Vitara Brezza is likely to get the BS6 compliant 1.5-litre petrol engine that powers the Ciaz and Ertiga. This engine produces 103 BHP and 138 Nm of torque. It could be paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. However, a 4-speed automatic transmission could be introduced later.

At present, the Vitara Brezza is only offered with a 1.3-litre, 4-cylinder diesel engine that produces 89 BHP and 200 Nm of torque. It is available with either a 5-speed manual or 5-speed automated manual transmission (AMT).

Reports suggest that Maruti is planning to launch the Vitara Brezza petrol in February 2020.
