Rumour: Maruti's Creta rivalling SUV to be unveiled on July 20

The upcoming Maruti mid-size SUV will compete with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun and the Skoda Kushaq.

Toyota took the wraps off the Urban Cruiser Hyryder earlier this month. Now, Maruti Suzuki is gearing up to unveil its version of the mid-size SUV. The new model is likely to be presented on July 20, 2022.

Rumours suggest that Maruti’s new mid-size SUV could be called Vitara. It shares its underpinnings with the Hyryder and is likely to be offered with the same powertrain options as its sister car.

The Urban Cruiser Hyryder comes with a 1.5-litre mild-hybrid petrol engine sourced from Maruti Suzuki, as well as a strong-hybrid powertrain. The latter uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine that makes 91 BHP and 122 Nm and an electric motor with an output of 78 BHP and 141 Nm.
