Rumour: Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe to be launched on July 21

Mercedes-Benz is reportedly planning to add a new model to its AMG line-up - the Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe. The car is scheduled to be launched on July 21, 2017.

The GLC 43 Coupe will be positioned below the larger GLE 43 Coupe in the AMG line-up in the country. It is powered by a 3.0-litre, bi-turbo, V6 petrol engine, which develops 362 BHP. The engine is mated to a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.

Mercedes claims that the car can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and touch an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. The GLC 43 Coupe is equipped with five driving modes - Eco, Comfort, Sport, Sport Plus and Individual, which allow the driver to change the car's dynamic configuration.

The GLC Coupe has a coupe-like roofline, while AMG design tweaks include a new grille, larger air intakes and 19-inch wheels. Inside, the cabin gets black leather and red stitching, red seatbelts and a flat-bottom steering wheel. Additionally, carbon-fibre replaces standard trim pieces on the dashboard, centre console and door panels.

The Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe will be imported into the country through the CBU route.
